Disney College Program!
Hey everyone! My name is Miranda Shuman and I was recently accepted into the Disney College Program!! So, now I’m starting a blog about the process. It all started when I saw a poster at my college dorm about the Disney college program. The opportunity to work for pay at Disney world and live in Orlando, Florida. I couldn’t pass the opportunity! I applied and found a presentation at my school! I went to the presentation, and let me tell you, it made me incredibly excited! I wanted to be accepted SOOO bad! I had to attend the presentation to get the required presentation code for the application. I’m glad I saw a live presentation instead of doing the online one. It made me excited and let me meet people at my college who did the program in the past. It made it convenient to ask questions and get more information.
Anyway, after I got the presentation code, I went online and completed the application process. After I submitted the application they emailed me and said that they would call me for a phone interview, because I passed the online personality questions. A couple days later they called me to set up the appointment for the phone call. I scheduled it for a week later. I prepared for it by looking up the questions online and thinking about my answers before they had the chance to ask them. She asked questions about previous jobs, hobbies, and interests. It was a fairly easy interview.
About a month later, on April 22nd 2011 I got an email from the Disney College Program “Dear Miranda, Congratulations! You have been selected to participate as a Quick-Service Food & Beverage Cast Member on the Disney College Program in the Fall 2011 season.” (Copied and pasted from actual email). I cried like a big baby as soon as I read that sentence. I called my mom to tell her the news, as I don’t live with her anymore and we’re 2 hours away from each other. She cried with me and then yelled for my dad. I heard him in the background crying and freaking out too. Best day ever!! I’ll update more later! Keep checking back here for more info.
